The children area relates to Venus and gold and the element metal. It is known as the creative, the lake, or joy in the I Ching. It doesn't just relate to children but also your hobbies and pet projects, that kit car in the garage, the tapestry you are working on, the things you get excited about. This area relates to joy and pleasure
and early autumn, when the leaves are brilliant colours, laden with fruits and there is gluttony and
                              plenty. The time that relates most to this area is between 5pm and  8pm.

                             Health
                             The organ that can be treated in this area is the lung. The lung controls the skin,
                              which is known as the third lung, and it's job is to mix chi from the air with     
                              energy from food. It is linked with expression, taking in and breathing out. In
                              balance, the qualities stored in the lungs are intuition, crisp, cool, mental
                              clarity, a quick mind, determination, courage and being able to forgive and
                                   understand.

                                  The negative qualities are depression, grief, jealousy, unreliability, not being
                                 able to forgive, pettiness and resentment. The mouth opens into this area, so
if you are a singer or a teacher you may need to apply special emphasis to this sector in your home.

Missing or Extended Areas
Mentally draw a line down the centre of your home. Or draw a plan and mark in pencil. If the area that is missing is equal or less than half of the total external wall measurement it is a missing area.  If however, the missing area is greater than half of the total external wall measurement then you have an extended area.

Missing Children Area

If this area is missing then there will be little joy, residents will not have any hobbies and it can be difficult to conceive children. It will be hard to spend money on any pleasurable activity and it will tend to be spent in different ways, such as having to lend it to a family in need or for repairs to the house.

Extended Children Area

When this area is extended, the people who live here will have more pleasure and joy in their lives, they will be sociable, enjoy good intuition and happiness. It will be easier to conceive children and you can expect to maintain good relationships with them. This is a very good place to have an extension.
